That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make minestrone

2 genuinely different takes β€” a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Whatever the week left

50 minutes Β· serves 6 Β· Very easy

What you need

  • 1 onion, 2 carrots, 2 celery sticks, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 courgette
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tin cannellini beans
  • 1.5L stock
  • 100g small pasta
  • Green beans
  • Olive oil
  • Basil

What you do

  1. 1Soften the onion, carrot and celery in oil for 15 minutes. This base is most of the flavour and it cannot be hurried.
  2. 2Garlic, then tomatoes, cooked 5 minutes.
  3. 3Stock and beans in, simmered 20 minutes.
  4. 4Courgette, green beans and pasta for the last 10 β€” any earlier and the pasta turns to paste.
  5. 5Olive oil and torn basil in every bowl.
