That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make stamppot

2 genuinely different takes — a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Boerenkool, with kale

40 minutes · serves 4 · Very easy

What you need

  • 1.2kg floury potatoes
  • 400g curly kale, shredded fine
  • 4 smoked sausages
  • 100ml milk
  • 60g butter
  • Mustard
  • Salt and pepper

What you do

  1. 1Boil the potatoes. For the last 6 minutes, pile the kale on top of them and put the lid on.
  2. 2Sit the sausages on top of the kale to warm through at the same time. One pan, three jobs.
  3. 3Lift the sausages out. Drain, then mash the potato and kale together with the warm milk and butter.
  4. 4It should be rough rather than smooth, and green all the way through.
  5. 5A well in the middle of each plate, gravy or mustard in it, sausage on top.
