That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make baked potato

One way to do it. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Crisp skin, properly

90 minutes Β· serves 2 Β· Very easy

What you need

  • 2 large baking potatoes
  • Oil
  • Coarse salt
  • Butter
  • Cheese (optional)

What you do

  1. 1Prick all over, rub with oil, then roll in coarse salt.
  2. 2Bake directly on the oven shelf at 200C for 75–90 minutes. No foil β€” foil steams it.
  3. 3It is done when the skin gives under a squeeze and sounds hollow.
  4. 4Split, fork the inside up roughly, and put in more butter than feels sensible.
