That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make meatballs

2 genuinely different takes β€” a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

In tomato sauce

60 minutes Β· serves 4 Β· Easy

What you need

  • 500g beef mince
  • 50g breadcrumbs
  • 50ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 40g parmesan, grated
  • 2 tins chopped tomatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • Basil
  • Oil

What you do

  1. 1Soak the breadcrumbs in the milk for 5 minutes. This is what keeps them soft.
  2. 2Mix with the mince, egg, parmesan and plenty of salt, handling it as little as you can, then roll into balls the size of a walnut.
  3. 3Brown them all over in oil and lift out. They will not be cooked through yet.
  4. 4Garlic in the same pan, then the tomatoes, simmered 15 minutes.
  5. 5Meatballs back in, lid half on, 25 minutes. Basil at the end.
