That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make dorayaki

2 genuinely different takes β€” a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Honey batter

30 minutes Β· serves 4 Β· Easy

What you need

  • 2 eggs
  • 70g sugar
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 120g plain flour
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 200g sweet red bean paste

What you do

  1. 1Beat the eggs, sugar and honey until pale and slightly thickened.
  2. 2Sift in the flour and baking powder, fold, then loosen with the water. Rest the batter 20 minutes.
  3. 3Cook tablespoon rounds in a dry non-stick pan over low-medium heat β€” no oil, or they go patchy.
  4. 4Turn when the surface is covered in open bubbles. A minute more.
  5. 5Sandwich pairs with the bean paste, more in the middle than the edges so the sides stay closed.

  • Chocolate spread
  • Banana

What you do
