That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make lobster roll

2 genuinely different takes — a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Maine style, cold and dressed

30 minutes · serves 2 · Easy

What you need

  • 400g cooked lobster meat, in big chunks
  • 3 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 celery stick, diced fine
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp chives
  • 2 split-top buns
  • 30g butter, softened
  • Salt and pepper

What you do

  1. 1Keep the lobster in large pieces. Shredded lobster in a roll is a waste of a lobster.
  2. 2Fold gently with the mayonnaise, celery, lemon, chives and seasoning. Chill 20 minutes.
  3. 3Butter both flat sides of the buns and griddle them until properly golden — this is not a step to skip.
  4. 4Fill generously so the meat sits proud of the bun.
  5. 5More chives, and a lemon wedge nobody will use.
