That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make philly cheesesteak

2 genuinely different takes — a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Chopped on the griddle

25 minutes · serves 2 · Easy

What you need

  • 400g ribeye, frozen 30 minutes then sliced paper thin
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 6 slices provolone or American cheese
  • 2 long soft rolls
  • Oil

What you do

  1. 1Cook the onion in oil on a flat pan until soft and brown, then push it to one side.
  2. 2Beef onto the hot side in a single layer. Leave it 60 seconds, then chop it about with two spatulas as it cooks.
  3. 3Mix the onion through, season, then lay the cheese over the top and let it melt into the meat.
  4. 4Scoop the whole lot into the roll in one movement, using the roll as the scoop.
