That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make sushi

One way to do it. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Hand rolls, no mat needed

45 minutes Β· serves 2 Β· Medium

What you need

  • 300g sushi rice
  • 3 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Nori sheets
  • 200g sashimi-grade salmon or tuna
  • Cucumber, avocado
  • Soy, wasabi

What you do

  1. 1Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then cook it slightly dry.
  2. 2Fold vinegar, sugar and salt through while hot, using a slicing motion so the grains stay whole.
  3. 3Cool to body temperature β€” hot rice cooks the fish, cold rice cracks.
  4. 4Half a nori sheet, a smear of rice, fillings on a diagonal, roll into a cone.
  5. 5Eat as you make them. Hand rolls do not keep.
