That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make kathi roll

2 genuinely different takes β€” a classic, and a faster or lighter route. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Egg paratha, chicken inside

45 minutes Β· serves 2 Β· Medium

What you need

  • 2 parathas or flaky flatbreads
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 300g chicken thigh, in strips
  • 3 tbsp yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 red onion, sliced thin
  • 1 lime
  • Green chutney
  • Chaat masala

What you do

  1. 1Marinate the chicken in the yoghurt, ginger-garlic and spices for 30 minutes, then fry hard until charred at the edges.
  2. 2Soak the sliced onion in lime juice with a pinch of salt β€” it turns pink and loses its harshness.
  3. 3Cook a paratha in a hot pan. Pour half the beaten egg on top of it and flip it immediately so the egg cooks onto the bread.
  4. 4Egg side up, spread chutney down the middle.
  5. 5Chicken, pickled onion, chaat masala and lime.
  6. 6Roll tight and wrap the bottom half in paper. That paper is load-bearing.

Paneer, same method

35 minutes Β· serves 2 Β· Easy

What you need

  • Parathas
  • Eggs
  • Paneer
  • Yoghurt
  • Spices
  • Red onion
  • Lime
  • Chutney

What you do

  1. 1Same marinade on paneer cubes, 15 minutes only.
  2. 2Fry hard and fast so it chars without drying out.
