That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make manakish

One way to do it. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

Za’atar, oil, oven

40 minutes · serves 4 · Easy

What you need

  • 300g flour
  • 180ml warm water
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp za’atar
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

What you do

  1. 1Soft dough, one hour rise.
  2. 2Mix the za’atar with the oil to a loose paste. It should pour, not crumble.
  3. 3Flatten each ball to a rough round and dimple it all over with your fingers so the oil has somewhere to sit.
  4. 4Spread the za’atar oil thickly.
  5. 5220C for 10 minutes, until the base is set but the top is still glistening.
