That was somebody else’s answer. Yours takes about twenty seconds: a handful of either-ors, then one dish.

How to make molten chocolate cake

One way to do it. The same ones the app hands you once you have decided.

The one that actually runs

25 minutes Β· serves 2 Β· Medium

What you need

  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 2 eggs plus 1 yolk
  • 60g caster sugar
  • 30g plain flour
  • Cocoa for dusting

What you do

  1. 1Butter the ramekins and dust with cocoa, not flour, so they turn out clean.
  2. 2Melt chocolate and butter together, cool slightly.
  3. 3Whisk eggs, yolk and sugar until thick and pale, then fold in chocolate, then flour.
  4. 4Bake at 200C for exactly 10–12 minutes. The edges set, the centre wobbles.
  5. 5Rest 60 seconds, then turn out. Every extra minute in the oven costs you the middle.
